This program awards successful candidates an Associate of Applied Science degree that will quickly send you into the profit-oriented and/or not-for-profit business world. In those environments, you鈥檒l be able to analyze, communicate, distinguish, record and summarize economic events.

With local businesses on the advisory board, the program offers internships for a taste of what work in this field will be like. A modern computer lab for accounting classes and easy access to instructors are the most attractive features of this program.

You鈥檒l be well prepared for jobs in such areas as accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, account processing, general ledger, and clerks. This program stresses fluency in oral and written communication. Most students enter the accounting field immediately after completing the two-year program. The program offers advanced accounting computer courses allowing students to seek advanced level employment in government offices, public accounting firms, and general businesses.

]]> Students working toward an Audio Engineering Associate of Applied Science degree typically intend to go right into the workplace upon completion of this two-year degree, although some individual courses may transfer to a four-year institution. Students in this program will learn about all aspects of music production, including the fundamentals of analog and digital audio and span live music reinforcement, digital audio recording, critique and analysis of recorded music, and the mixing and mastering process.

Students will be introduced to fundamental music terminology and analysis of instrumentation, form, and production techniques as they apply to popular musical genres. In addition to working in state-of-the-art facilities, including a fully outfitted recording studio and a Pro Tools computer lab, students are given opportunities to apply their skills at department and campus-wide events. Through internships with local music businesses, students gain valuable experience with industry professionals.
